i-Transport LLP initially prepared a Transport Strategy to support the allocation of this major greenbelt release capable of accommodating c.2,500 dwellings and other uses. This included assessments of a new relief road of Wakefield. We subsequently provided input to a successful planning application for the first phase of residential development (c.500 units) and the relief road.

Other project examples include:

  • South Gillingham for Welbeck Land/CG Fry & Son/Taylor Wimpey – Transport Planning advice promoting 1,800 dwellings and 23,000 sqm of employment through the emerging North Dorset Local Plan.
  • Normanton Altofts Masterplan for Taylor Wimpey – Assessment of major development areas for a variety of land uses including impacts of new road and public transport connections.
  • Northern Arc for Gleeson Strategic Land and Rydon Homes – Access advice and assessments for up to 3,500 new homes, schools, employment, leisure, and retail land on the Northern Arc situated to the north and west of Burgess Hill in West Sussex.
  • London Distribution Park for Roxhill Developments Ltd – Highways and transport advice throughout the planning and implementation stages of a strategic commercial development of land to the north of the existing Port of Tilbury. The development comprises around 1,000,000 sqft of employment use, a lorry park and includes a new access onto the A1089 trunk road.
  • Arborfield Strategic Development Location for Crest Nicholson Regeneration – Assessment of transport implications for 2,000 dwellings plus District Centre and foodstore, secondary and primary schools and associated community uses on the site of the former Arborfield Garrison in Wokingham.
  • West Horton Heath for Drew Smith – Transport and highways advice to support the promotion of the strategic development location for 950 dwellings, secondary and primary schools and associated uses in Hampshire.
  • Land at South East Bicester for Redrow Homes and Wates Development – Promotion of large mixed-use development site of 1,500 dwellings and c.1 million sqft employment land through the Local Plan and subsequent inputs to the planning application.
